Ever since the first publicity photos for Fox’s upcoming Fantastic Four reboot were released fans have been wondering what was up with the costumes. That is not what the FF wears. Now, Miles Teller has let it slip that the heroes will be donning something closer to the comic’s uniforms by the end of the film.
In a story seen here it is reported that the origin story will more closely follow the Marvel Ultimate universe’s version of events. In the publicity photos Reed Richards, who Teller is playing, has a costume that is constructed with springs and wires. This is to help him learn to control his new found abilities. In fact, the black uniforms that have caused so much speculation are not uniforms at all. Dan Newlin said they are containment suits designed by Mr. Fantastic specifically for each individual and their powers.
This film is designed as a character driven origin story and there is all ready plans for a 2017 sequel that may see the heroes looking like fans expect them to. Which will be good if the rumors that Fox is planning to crossover the FF with the X-Men franchise come true. Now, if only we can convince Fox to collaborate with Disney/Marvel all of the heroes could share a movie universe.
