For years, fans of the X-Men comics and movies have begged writers and directors to add the character named Jubilation, also known as Jubilee, to their roster in a more than brief walk-on role. Although she has appeared in the past films, there has simply never been any focus on her character, which has saddened many because she has one of the coolest talents: Jubilee can create pyrotechnics with her hands. She also has a quirky and fun personality that could help lighten up the dark atmosphere often emphasized in the X-Men franchise.
This week, fans learned that Jubilee has been recast with a younger actress which suggests that she will appear more often in future X-Men films as the plan for the franchise is to use younger actors going forward in new universe roles so that the actors won’t have to be swapped out after one or two years as the franchise continues to release more films.
A young newcomer, actress Lana Condor, will play the part in X-Men: Apocalypse. In future films, Bubblews reports she will appear alongside of Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Alexandra Ship as Storm and Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler.
There are also plans for the cast of the current new generation and older generation X-Men films to continue playing their roles in a series of new films in the current X-Men film universe down the line.
